I am Joseph Fratto , owner of Woods by Designs. I have been in the building trades since 1979 and have over 30 years experience in all facets of the construction industry. I was introduced to tools and job sites at a very early age and have been in it ever since. At the age of 22 I was introduced and taught by a retired gentleman who was employed at Ethan Allen Furniture on the aspects of making furniture. I listened and learned a great deal and I've put those skills to use today. I was a resident in Florida from 1979 -1993 working carpentry and drywall through out the state. In 1993 I joined the Carpenters Union Local 87 in Minneapolis MN and worked there for the past 20 years. There I was proud to have par-taken in several high profile projects . General Mills Headquarters, IDS Towers, The Guthrie Theater, Mr Kenvin Garmetts residence. Randy Moss Residence and Mayo Clinic Rochester just to name a few. My projects have been recognized by HGTV, DIY ,Craftsman, Craftsman Club of America. Handyman Magazine, DeWalt and a few others.
In 2011 I decided it was time to return to the Sunshine State, warmer climate and to be a lot closer to my Family. Once here I , decided to get Woods-by-Designs started here. Fair pricing, quality work and excellent work ethic.

Joe came all the way to Florida to redo my kitchen. It was a major remake not just putting in cabinets. Water lines had to be re-routed from the cement floor, electrical had to be re-routed as well. All in all as you can see the job is beautifully done. Thanks to Joe.

If you can imagine it I can build it. My services are building & designing custom projects for customers that appreciate something that is made strictly for them. A good project starts with the design, then the type of materials. Then I listen and make a customer a part of the team, so they have a complete understanding of what is involved and I listen to their ideas. I take great pride in my work and want to give a customer a project that will be in their family or business for years to come . I am not your typical woodworker Somehow when a customer explains what they want I get an immediate vision of the finished product. I also love mixing things up and making unusual pieces , adding a flair to a project is just one. Every project has to have some type of flair. Off the wall projects is what I also love.

Century High School Train built in 2008 for the senior class. This train is constructed of all wood products and is 18 feet long x 4 feet wide x 9 feet tall.
